Darye - Korean Tea Ceremony


Korea is an East-Asian country that is currently divided into two separate are North Korea and South Korea. There are many cultures in Korea that famous in the world. Korean people consist of traditional people and modern people. Usually they are modern people live in apartments or houses in town, they work in many companies that built in center of city. Traditional people in Korea choose live at geomansi.
Traditional house of Korea (usually house of rich people) is divided be inside part (anehae), male (sarangchae), study room (sarangbang), and waiter room (haengrangbang). Big or not of house is affected by wealth of family. In this house have a warmers in the ground, that be useful at winter, is called ondol. Korean people believe that houses are built must contrast with mountains and also to confront of south to receive sun light. This method often can see in the modern life.
One of the cultures of Korean is Korean Tea Ceremony or known as darye. Darye is a traditional form of tea ceremony practiced in Korea. Darye literally refers to "etiquette for tea" or "day tea rite" and has been kept among Korean people for a few thousand years. The chief element of the Korean tea ceremony is the ease and naturalness of enjoying tea within an easy formal setting.
Tea ceremonies are now being revived in Korea as a way to find relaxation and harmony in the fast-paced new Korean culture, and continuing in the long tradition of intangible Korean art.
Generation to the next, the Korean women have left tea ceremony tradition. Every year in June, the tradition and many tea ceremonies in the world are held on Daegu World Tea Culture Festival at Daegu, South Korea. All of women sit on stage and wear white Korean dresses with known as Hanbok. They are very elegant, well mannered and also calm.

The tea was prepared last night, wrapped and tied in lotus flower alive and wrapped use lotus flower leaf. Tea then left for one night so that the scent of flowers attached and opened in the morning to serve.

The most important moment when tea ceremony is preparing tea, The people of Korea believe their mind have to clean and calm, this is the sacral moment,  they must be concentration and clean their mind, be one with nature.
From tea leaf election and making tea, until drinking and keeping of tea, various processes are all part of the art of making tea. The art guide people to have awareness. Following of making tea process can give a shine of heart and mind. At least, Darye is only art of tea drinking, but the tradition of Korea make this art as learning of life.
